To look for the associations of individual-level and neighborhood-level characteristics with the overall performance of bystander-initiated CPR, we used a three-level hierarchical logistic-regression model. This allowed us to take into account the nesting of 14,225 patients within 2403 neighborhoods defined as census tracts , and 29 U.S. CARES sites . Individual-level characteristics and neighborhood-level features were put into the model as fixed results and CARES sites had been added as random effects to be able to examine their independent contributions. The final model was chosen based on the very best proportion of variance that was described by individual and community variables. We then executed 10-fold cross-validation to measure the calibration and discrimination of the model. She didn’t believe her finger was damaged because she could still bend it.
